Mined + Fractured communicates the history of the location it is designed for. The Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, sits on the site of an old coal storage. By using layers of contrasting clays, the plates narrate the strata inwhich coal forms in the earth. The project seeks to create a deeper level to dining, immersed in a sense of place.
